Did you know only 9% of people stick to their New Year’s Resolutions?
Many of us don’t give our goals long-term context or tie them to our values, which means we don't fully commit to them and soon give up.
Whether you want to live a more healthy, balanced and fulfilling life or achieve life-changing goals, start with this 5-step exercise to create context and meaning for your resolutions:
- Grab your notebook or a blank piece of paper.
- Write: How do I want to feel in the next year? Jot down as many things as you can think of.
- Write: What do I want more of in the next year? Underneath, draw a line down the middle of the page to form 2 columns. Write work/business on one side and life on the other. List as many things as you can think of in both columns.
- Repeat the last step, but this time ask yourself: What do I want less of in the next year? List as many points as you can in both columns.
- Write: What do I need to do to achieve these changes? Write down every idea or thought that comes to you.
Now you have awareness and understanding of what is important to you, you can set meaningful resolutions.
If you found this useful, why not forward it to someone else you think would find it helpful?

'I had a true breakthrough session with Simon. In just our first session together, he was able to identify the root fears blocking me and through his thought-provoking questions helped me come up with a solution to break that pattern.
I wasn't expecting this level of breakthrough in my first session with him, but was very pleasantly surprised! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to help unlock your highest potential!'
